Press conference-Proclaiming 3rd week of October as National Character Counts! Week at the Joe Skeen Building – Formal dedication and installation of plaques recognizing Chaves County Adult Character Builders – Commission Chambers Joe Skeen Building, 1 St. Mary’s Place, 1:30 p.m.

Pillar Friday – Age/Grade students wear T-shirt color of Pillars of Character.  Participation in this activity is at the discretion of the principal.

There are other activities that will occur during the week.  Local businesses will be encouraged to display messages about character on their marquees.

Things to do:

1.      Share information about Character Counts! Week with principal and staff by September 25.

2.      Decide on activities that will occur at each school during the week of Character Counts! Week by September 30.

4.      Submit entries in the Character Counts! Essay, Poetry, Art Contest at Chaves County Character Counts! Office (131 W. Second Street—Chamber of Commerce Building) on Wednesday, October 9th no later than 5:00 p.m. 

5.      Pick up entries on Tuesday, October 16th between 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Chaves County Character Counts! Office (131 W. Second Street—Chamber of Commerce Building).
